Flint Glowed Gold during September to Raise Awareness of Childhood Cancer.
Our 2021 Awareness campaign in September saw 15 gold bikes and scooters placed around Flint and one near the River in Chester. The bikes and scooters represented lost childhoods to Cancer.
Each bike or scooter was dedicated to an Angel. The bikes were certainly a talking point and gained a lot of media interest.
We had fantastic support from local businesses. Neil from Third Avenue lit up shops, pubs, St Mary’s Church and the Town Hall for a donation.
The whole town glowed gold in honour of those angels taken by childhood cancer and those hero’s still battling.
Team Giddo unfortunately honoured over 100 Angels by placing heartfelt messages and photos outside the St Mary’s Church in Flint and along the suspension bridge in Chester.
It is heart breaking that so many have lost their lives to childhood Cancer. It was very emotional as we met with bereaved families and placed yellow roses for their loved one into the river. We also placed gold stars with names of those children battling with horrendous treatments along the bridge.
